Hi! I’m Laura Sellers and I’m so thrilled to reintroduce myself as the Executive Director of Madam President Camp!
I started working with Madam President Camp in the summer of 2023 as a camp mentor at the Sion camp and got to see the organization and its impact close up. This was the kind of camp I wish I had gone to when I was a middle schooler or been a mentor at when I was in high school or college. I joined MPC as the Director of Operations last fall and have been so excited to work with the Board, grow the number of camps, and support our exceptional mentors and volunteers during!
In this role, I’m looking forward to a new chapter as MPC expands into year-round programming involving workshops, volunteer opportunities, and events for camp alumnae. We’ve had fantastic Let’s Vote Workshops in October, a great volunteer shift at KC Pet Project just before Thanksgiving, and opened enrollment on both a Winter Break mini-camp and a Spring Break camp. And, we’ll be opening enrollment soon for our six (yes, six) summer camps in 2025!
When I’m not working on Madam President Camp, you can find me volunteering with the Junior League of Kansas City, Missouri, attending a Central Exchange event, or serving on the Executive Board of the Notre Dame de Sion Alumnae Association. And, when I’m not doing any of those things, I’m spending time with family and friends, tackling a home renovation project, or watching my favorite shows and movies.
