Get to Know Amanda

Hi! My name is Amanda Cunigan and I am excited to join Madam President Camp as the Director of Community Engagement. I first joined Madam President Camp in the summer of 2024 as Camp Director.
Before Madam President Camp, I was a classroom teacher for 4th and 5th grades for 7 years. After leaving teaching in the spring of 2024, I wanted to find other ways to motivate and lead today’s youth. Madam President Camp was just what I was looking for! As Camp Director, it was so engaging to mentor campers, help them find their voice, and hone their leadership skills.
When I am not working with Madam President Camp, you can find me managing events at The Vineyard at J. Creek, coordinating projects with The Connection Shop, tutoring students in the northland, and volunteering for the Junior League of Kansas City. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my 8-year-old son, working out, traveling, and participating in local book clubs.
As the Director of Community Engagement, I will be coordinating MPC’s year-round programming and working to grow the awareness of MPC’s mission and values. I look forward to finding new ways Madam President Camp can reach more youth throughout the Kansas City area!
