Program Director Job Description

Description of Organization: Madam President Camp (MPC) which was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization in 2013 provides girls, ages 11-13, the opportunity to learn the foundational skills necessary to become confident leaders in their schools and communities through interactive day camp experiences.

Overview: The Board of MPC seeks a highly motivated and energetic Program Director who is passionate about the mission of the organization and demonstrates a record of integrity, strong work ethic and professional achievements. MPC anticipates providing 6-7 camp experiences annually--most of which will occur during June and July. The organization has goals for extending their programming beyond the traditional camp setting.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for leading the programs of the organization in a manner that supports and guides its mission as defined by the Board of Directors (Board).

• Responsible for working with the Executive Director to develop, plan, organize, and facilitate MPC’s programing.

• Responsible for communicating the organization’s activities in a timely and effective manner to the organization’s stakeholders including donors, employees, parents, campers, and the community.

• Responsible for helping develop streams of revenue for program funding.

• Responsible for financially managing the programing within the approved budget, contributing to a financially sound organization.

• Responsible for the enhancement of the organization’s image. This includes being active and visible in the community and partnering with other civic and community organizations.

• Responsible for sourcing of locations, supplies, and personnel for the programing.

• Responsible for the enrollment of participants and training of personnel in connection with the programming.

• Transparent, ethical, and credible leader

• Ability to inspire, motivate, and educate middle-school girls

• Educational or administrative background

• Entrepreneurial drive and energy

• Business acumen with ability to generate revenue streams through delivery of programing

• Ability to collaborate and work effectively with other community organizations

• Outstanding communication skills—both written and spoken

• Exceptional planning and organizational skills

• Ability to manage within an annual budget

• Demonstrated marketing and social media understanding and knowledge

Position Information:

• Year-around position

• An average of approximately 20 - 40 hours on average per week. The traditional summer camp months will require a commitment on the higher end of the range.

• Position can be flexible to meet the needs of candidate

• Salary negotiable at hourly rate depending on qualifications and related experience
