Girls empowerment event inspires future leaders

Madam President Camp hosted The Girl Empowerment Event. We walked away feeling encouraged, inspired, and with an increased desire to support the girls in our community and grow the next generation of female leaders.

Our conversation was led by a panel of brilliant women leaders and courageous young Campers. Senator Barbara Washington, Dawn Rattan, and Rogeana Patterson-King shared stories of perseverance, owning your strength, overcoming failure, and fighting for what you believe. Our Campers offered their own experiences of struggling with confidence, how they succeeded, and what it feels like to be a girl today.

We are grateful for the community support and the willingness to engage in this important conversation.
