mary messner named acting executive director

We are thrilled to announce Mary Messner has joined Madam President Camp as its Acting Executive Director.

Mary’s corporate career involved 14 years at Cerner Corporation where she developed a passion for creating impactful educational curriculum and growing leaders.  

In 2021, Mary was instrumental in developing and delivering our first virtual curriculum that allowed us to more than double the number of campers served.  

"During camp, there is a tangible moment when young girls pivot from being aware of the issues or topics that surround them in their community to recognizing they have a voice. They will be the leaders who make a difference today and in the years to come. It is inspiring. I am honored for the opportunity to support girls across Kansas City and beyond,” says Mary. As a mom to two girls, Mary knows the importance of girls learning how to have a voice.  

Madam President Camp board chairwoman, Jeanie Latz, remarked, “Mary, with her expertise, passion, and enthusiasm, is the right leader for the organization at this time of change.” 

Mary’s new role at Madam President Camp is a small part of the news you’ll be hearing in 2022. Over the next few weeks, our forward-thinking board will focus on creating a sustainable future for Madam President Camp.  

We are planning for not only Madam President Camp, but for the future of girls in Kansas City.
